”My M5 was suffering a jumble of frame-lines, an inaccurate rangefinder, a pronounced "twang" from the meter when winding-on, and the slightest hint of uneven exposure at 1/1000. In a few days I had a detailed assessment of the work required and confirmation it was all covered under the CLA fee. I was also given a clear explanation of optional and recommended extras and cost. After giving the green light, and being kept up-to-date with progress throughout - a few weeks later, the camera was back, film-tested and with a further report on the work that had been carried out. This revealed it had been quite poorly, suffering damage from an earlier repair. The lenses now call-up the right frame-lines, the "twang" has gone, exposures are even and, with my 50mm f2, focus is pixel sharp on 4200 dpi scans. As bonuses, the wind-on action is smoother, the viewfinder and rangefinder patch clearer and the shutter speed selector - the reason for choosing an M5 - was smoother in use. Very pleased."
